Tips for Finding Books & DVDs in Begley Library
BY SUBJECT
To find books about Drama or Theater, do a subject search in the online catalog.
To do a subject search, select LC subject heading or Words in Subject or Subject Begins With from the drop-down menu, and enter the subject heading of your choice. You will get different results depending on which type of search you choose, so you may want to try all three.
The following is a list of suggested subject headings for finding books in Begley Library about Drama and Theater. This list is a starting point for research, and is not complete. You may want to mix and match terms from this list to create different subject headings. A librarian can help you find additional titles.

- To find a specific play, select the advanced search tab in the online catalog.
- Choose Author from the drop down menu, and type in the author of your choice.
- Choose Title from the second drop down menu, and type in the title you wish to find.
For example, Author: williams AND Title: cat on a hot tin roof
BY PLAYWRITE
To find all the books in the library by a specific playwrite or dramatist, there are two options:
- Select WORDS IN AUTHOR if you know part of the author's name.
- Select AUTHOR (lastname,firstname) if you know the author's full name
REFERENCE
Facsimile of the first collected edition of the dramatic works of William Shakespeare, published in London in 1623.
Definitions of words as they are used in Shakespeare's texts.
